Research Interests

All life depends on plants and yet the origin, extent and properties of plant diversity remain poorly understood. The student will join a research team tackling fundamental plant diversity research from both trait and lineage perspectives. Uncovering the tree of life using cutting edge phylogenomic methods is central to our work, drawing extensively on the outstanding collections of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. A wide diversity of DPhil possibilities are available at Kew that make full use of our facilities, expertise and collections. Our collaborations around the world provide a truly international environment, including opportunities to conduct field research in some of the richest habitats in the world.
