Where - exactly - are the world’s botanical hotspots? Why are they there and how can the best be managed? Our research improves both the coverage and analysis of plant biodiversity data, and develops the tools to achieve this. We also investigate the ecology and phylogenetics of plant species and communities; taxonomy and ecological traits of tropical species, and the origins of botanical hotspots at various scales. Our methods and results support better management of the world’s flora.
