Research Interests

Recent global declines have made amphibians a focal point for conservation biology. However, despite nearly 7,400 described species, many groups remain poorly understood in terms of phylogenetics, ecology, distribution, and extinction risk. The outstanding amphibian collections of the Natural History Museum provide unparalleled opportunities for understanding the historical drivers of biodiversity and causes of current declines. The student will join a research group exploring amphibian diversity/speciation via analyses of high-throughput DNA sequences, morphology, and spatial data.

Associated Research Streams

phylogenetics, herpetology, molecular evolution, systematics, genomics, biogeography
