Research Interests
Steven White, based at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, is a theoretical ecologist interest interested in population dynamics, species invasions, and insect vectors of human and wildlife diseases. He currently offers projects on how environmental variability affects population dynamics and species spread. Projects are mainly based in mathematical modelling, but data and experimental components are often supported. Current projects include modelling species invasions in fragmented landscapes and modelling mosquito population dynamics subject to climate change. Future projects may be supervised by Mike Bonsall (Zoology), Eamonn Gaffney (Maths), James Bullock (CEH) or Bethan Purse (CEH).
Associated Research Streams
mathematical ecology, population dynamics, invasive species, insect vectors, disease, environmental change
