Dali Lemon-Morgan

Academic Profile

Dali holds a First-Class Honours degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol, where they gained experience in ecological research, laboratory techniques, and fieldwork. Dali's previous projects include studying insect behaviour and fertility in the context of climate change, as well as field research with The Guppy Project in Trinidad and Tobago and as a seasonal ecologist at Jacobs, where she contributed to environmental assessments. Dali is a first year DPhil student on the NERC Doctoral Training Partnership and supported by a scholarship from Reuben College.

Current Research

Dali's Dphil project aims to improve cryopreservation techniques for ovarian tissues to support fertility preservation in endangered mammals. Building on recent findings that delaying the freezing process may enhance tissue viability, the research will explore how metabolic conditioning before cryopreservation affects oocyte survival across different species. Using samples from domestic animals and endangered wildlife—through partnerships with Chester Zoo and the Williams Group—the project will develop tailored, species-specific protocols. The ultimate goal is to enhance biobanking efforts and help safeguard genetic diversity for conservation and future fertility restoration. Dali is based at the Women’s Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
