My research broadly addresses the development of algorithms for optimization problems of many kinds such as those involving black-box, noisy, expensive evaluations. I am particularly interested in parameter estimation for climate modelling, data assimilation for weather forecasting, and more generally, in developing efficient optimization algorithms for (linear and nonlinear) inverse problems.
