Emily Van de Koot

Academic Profile

Previously, I studied physics at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a Master’s degree in 2018. My final year project focused on the possibility of discovering new information about the Higgs boson at a potential upgrade to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Current Research

I am currently working with Tim Woollings and Mike Byrne studying the impact of land-surface properties and sea surface temperatures on monsoons and the intertropical convergence zone. The work will include a particular focus on the extent to which cloud radiative effects modulate circulation patterns.
