William Langdon

Academic Profile

Previously, I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2019 with a degree in Biology. Here, my undergraduate research project focused on the responses of the threatened Adonis Blue butterfly to climate change. Butterflies and moths are a particular passion of mine, and I also spent summers in Sweden and Hungary helping with research on European butterflies, while my undergraduate project was completed in partnership with Butterfly Conservation (with whom I am also a regular volunteer).

Current Research

I am interested in how organisms (in particular insects) respond to environmental change. For my DPhil, I intend to investigate the mechanisms by which atmospheric nitrogen deposition affects insect herbivores, and how these effects scale up to shape insect communities and interact with other aspects of global change.
